Common Ground Community Garden
of Crestview, FL, Inc.
APRIL
Prime time in the garden! This is the major month for planting warm weather crops.
SET out these TRANSPLANTS:
TIMING is crucial!
NOTE: It is important to get Warm Weather Crop transplants set in the garden as EARLY in the month as possible to extend the growing season and avoid pest pressures that increase as the weather warms up. This will lengthen harvest, decrease pesticide use, and be much more pleseant!
STARTING APRIL 1 SET SEEDLINGS OUT AS SOON AS NO FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE PREDICTED IN THE 10 DAY FORCAST, (or be prepared to protect transplants on frosty nights. In general, most danger of frost is past here in Crestview after the second week of the month.)
